Hadith 1529
Musnad Abu Ishaq Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas
ENGLISH
It was narrated from "Umar bin Sa"d, from his father, that he said: His son ‘Amir came to him and he said:
O my son, do you want me to be a leading figure in the turmoil? No, by Allah, not unless I am given a sword which, if I wanted to strike a believer with it, it would refuse to strike him, but if I wanted to strike a disbeliever with it, it would kill him. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, loves the one who is independent of means,reclusive and pious."
