Hadith 2583
Musnad of 'Abdullah bin al-'Abbas bin 'Abdul-Muttalib from the Prophet
Rafi’ bin Khadeej said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came out to us and told us not to do something that was beneficial for us, and the command of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) is better for us than that which he told us not to do. He said: “Whoever has land, let him cultivate it or leave it, or lend it to someone else to cultivate for free." He said: I mentioned that to Tawoos, and he thought that Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) was one of the most knowledgeable of them. He said: Ibn ‘Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) only said, "Whoever has land, lending it to his brother for free is better for him.”
